New BIS Licence/ISI Mark

In India if a manufacturer wants to sell products(other than electronic) one more scheme is available, It is called Product Certification Scheme.In this scheme some products are voluntary in nature and some are mandatory. Manufacturer can not manufacture or sell products covered under mandatory certification without taking ISI mark or BIS licence for that product. Manufacturer can manufacture or sell products covered under voluntary list without taking ISI mark or BIS licence for that product, but manufacturers take BIS licence to increase acceptability and thereby sales of their products.
